Itinerak processes information needed to provide accounts, travel planning, Travelers Nearby, friendships, private messages and notifications. The app may also display sponsored promotional cards. The current Itinerak promotion system does not use Google AdSense or Google AdMob and does not use personal browsing behavior or advertising profiles to select promotions. Promotions may instead be matched to the travel context, such as a country, city or itinerary.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies specifically to the Itinerak mobile application and the services made available through it.
It covers the app's account, travel-planning, weather, Travelers Nearby, friendship, private messaging, notification and sponsored-promotion features.
This policy is separate from privacy information that may apply to the Itinerak WordPress product or other parts of the main website.
2. Information you provide
Depending on the features you use, you may provide information such as your email address, account credentials, name, username, profile image, biography, selected country or city, travel-related information, friendship activity and messages you choose to send.
You decide what information to place in your profile and what information to share in private messages.
Do not submit passwords, payment credentials, identity documents, precise home addresses or other highly sensitive information through profile fields or private messages.
3. Account and authentication
Account information is processed to create and authenticate your account, maintain your signed-in session, provide account-related functionality and protect the service.
Authentication tokens used by the Android app are stored using secure device storage rather than ordinary application preferences.
When you delete your account, the account deletion process is designed to remove the account and associated service data described in this policy, subject to limited retention that may be required or permitted by law or necessary for security, fraud prevention, disputes or legal obligations.
4. Travelers Nearby and location information
Travelers Nearby is designed to show approximate distance information between travelers rather than expose another traveler's precise coordinates to other users.
The Android app does not request precise device-location permission for this feature.
The feature can use a traveler's selected city or other approximate location context available to the service to calculate or present nearby-traveler information.
Availability can also depend on visibility settings, network conditions and other service conditions.
It is not intended to provide real-time precise location information about another user and is not an emergency service.
5. Profiles, friends and private messages
The service processes profile information and visibility settings so that relevant users can discover or interact with one another according to the app's current rules and settings.
The service processes friendship requests, friendship status and related activity to operate the friendship system.
Private message content and related information may be stored and processed so messages can be delivered, displayed, protected and managed by the service.
6. Notifications
The service may process information necessary to provide in-app or device notification features, including activity related to friendships and private messages.
Whether a notification appears also depends on your device and notification settings.
7. Travel planning and weather
Itinerak processes information necessary to provide trip planning, destination discovery and weather-related features.
This may include selected destinations, itinerary choices and requests needed to retrieve or display relevant travel information.
Travel information and weather information may change and may not always be complete or current.
8. Sponsored promotional cards
Itinerak may display sponsored promotional cards within the app. These promotions are commercial content supplied or configured by Itinerak or by a promotional partner.
Promotions may be selected according to the travel context of the screen or itinerary, such as a country, city or other destination context.
The current promotion system is not based on your personal browsing history, advertising profile, private messages, friendship graph or other personal behavioral profile.
The current Itinerak promotion system does not use Google AdSense or Google AdMob. It does not require the Android Advertising ID for the purpose of serving these promotions.
A promotional card may contain text, images, HTML-formatted content and a link.
Promotional HTML is displayed inside the app as controlled content. The app does not provide the advertiser with unrestricted JavaScript execution inside the promotion.
A promotion may link to an external website or service. Once you leave Itinerak, the destination website's own privacy policy, terms and data practices apply.
The presence of a sponsored promotion does not mean that Itinerak endorses, guarantees or assumes responsibility for the advertiser, its products, services, claims, prices, availability or external website.
9. Information visible to other users
Depending on the feature and your settings, other users may be able to see selected profile information, selected city or approximate traveler information, friendship status or messages you send to them.
The exact visibility can change with the app's current functionality and your settings.
10. Technical, security and operational information
The app and server may process technical information necessary to authenticate users, maintain sessions, communicate with the service, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, protect accounts, maintain reliability and secure the infrastructure.
The exact information depends on the device, operating system, network, authentication method and feature used.
Itinerak does not intentionally collect device contacts, SMS, call logs, microphone data, camera data or precise device location for the current Android app functionality.
11. How information is used
Information may be used for the following purposes:
- Provide and maintain user accounts and app functionality.
- Provide trip planning, destination discovery and weather-related features.
- Provide Travelers Nearby, friendship and private messaging features.
- Deliver relevant in-app and device notifications.
- Display and select relevant sponsored promotional cards according to destination context.
- Maintain security, reliability and service integrity.
- Respond to support, privacy and account requests.
- Prevent abuse, fraud and attempts to circumvent technical or security controls.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations when required.
12. Sharing and third-party services
Itinerak may use third-party services or infrastructure where reasonably necessary to operate particular functions, such as hosting, weather data, communications, storage, security or other technical operations.
Where a third party processes information on behalf of or in connection with the service, the information shared is limited to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant function, subject to the applicable service arrangements.
The app may also connect you to external websites when you choose to follow a link, including links contained in sponsored promotional cards.
Those external services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Itinerak does not control their data practices.
Itinerak does not sell your personal information to advertisers.
13. Data retention
Information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain account and communication functionality, protect the service, resolve disputes, enforce applicable terms and meet legal obligations.
Retention periods vary according to the type of information and the purpose for which it is processed.
When an account is deleted, Itinerak initiates deletion of the account and associated service data.
Limited information may remain where retention is required or permitted by law, necessary to establish or defend legal claims, prevent fraud or abuse, protect the security of the service, or comply with a valid legal obligation.
14. Security
Itinerak uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including HTTPS for service communications and secure device storage for authentication tokens.
No internet transmission, device, server or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
15. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing, or request a copy of certain information.
You can also control certain profile, visibility and notification settings within the app and through your device.
16. Account deletion
You can initiate account deletion directly from the Itinerak app through the account or profile area. The process is designed to delete the account and associated service data rather than merely disable or freeze the account.

We may need to verify that a request comes from the account owner before processing it.
Deleting an account is intended to be permanent. After deletion, the account cannot be used to sign in again unless a new account is created.
Some information may be retained only where described in this policy and where legally required or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, disputes or legal obligations.
17. Children and age restrictions
Itinerak is not designed as a child-directed social or messaging service.
Travelers Nearby, friendships and private messaging are intended for users who meet the minimum age requirements applicable to the service and the relevant app-store rules.
Do not use the service to facilitate unsafe contact with minors.

18. International processing
Your information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live, subject to applicable legal requirements and the safeguards available to the service.
19. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the service, features, legal requirements or data practices change.
The current version will be published at this URL with a revised update date.
Where required, material changes will be communicated through appropriate means.
